Layout and design of thematic papers for UNV SWVR 2018 project

Background and objectives
We are looking for a volunteer who will help create a template and then do the layout for 2 thematic papers for the 2018 State of the World’s Volunteerism Report (SWVR). This includes designing cover pages, several infographics and formatting text and graphics. Each paper will have approximately 30-40 pages and the design style will be corporate, intended to be read by government officials, UN agencies and civil society organizations. We will provide the existing templates, the edited text that needs to be included in the report, indications on the elements that require highlighting, guidance on UNV requirements on design and any other support, as needed. If you are interested in undertaking this task, please submit your CV as soon as possible and include links to your portfolio. The deadline to finalise the layout of both papers is 12th June 2018. The volunteer will be given due credit and acknowledged on the final products.

This assignment is part of the State of the World's Volunteerism Report 2018 project (SWVR 2018). The SWVR 2018 is the UN's global flagship publication on volunteerism, produced every three years by the United Nations Volunteers programme. The SWVR 2018 will be launched in July 2018 and focuses on the role of volunteering in community resilience. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV is active in around 130 countries every year. With field presences in over 80 countries, UNV is represented worldwide. UNV is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Volunteers: 1 needed
6-10 hours per week / 5 weeks
The candidate should have strong graphic design capabilities; good command of English and a proven record of delivering projects of a similar nature and scale demonstrating the technical expertise and organizational capacity to perform the intended functions. The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver tasks effectively and on time is required.
