TASK

We are looking for talented graphic artists and designers to support us with the creation of virtual maps to show prevalence of Child Marriage in Indonesia. For advocacy and programming purposes, detailed maps are needed to show the prevalence of child marriage at national, district and sub-national levels.

In Indonesia, one in four girls (25%) marry before their 18th birthday; in some provinces child marriage is as high as 38%.

- Indonesia country office will provide the data to be included in the virtual maps. Skype or phone conference will be organized with the online volunteer.
- Maps need to be ready between 15 to 30th November 2014.
- UNICEF Indonesia will own the rights to the product
- The selected online volunteer will receive due credit for their contribution

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The consequences of child marriage to the girls who experience it can be devastating. Child marriage leads to early childbearing, with significantly higher maternal mortality and morbidity rates as well as higher infant mortality rates . Child marriage puts girls at risk of early and unwanted pregnancies, posing life-threatening consequences.

OBJECTIVE

UNICEF is driving advocacy to end child marriage and conducted some data mining on child marriage in cooperation with the national bureau of statistics.
