UNDP IICPSD would like to work with online volunteers in the layout and design of case studies produced under "How the Private Sector Develops Skills" research series. There are 12 case studies which should be formatted and placed on UNDP InDesign template by the volunteers. The volunteers will also utilize the visuals and photos provided by IICPSD to enrich the design. The ownership and copyrights of all material created will belong to UNDP. To facilitate the selection process, interested candidates are kindly requested to attach a CV to their application including links to samples of similar design work they have done. Selected candidates will be informed about their tasks over e-mail and Skype and may be asked to develop up to three different proposals. We will award due credit to online volunteers on the final product.

IICPSD is one of the six global thematic centers of UNDP, being the only one dedicated to leveraging the role of the private sector in inclusive growth and human development. The work of the volunteers will help advance IICPSD's knowledge generation work on private sector-led skills development, which aims to contribute to the achievement of SDG 4 on education and lifelong learning and SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth. The case studies are instrumental for disseminating the lessons learned and good practices in skills development, which empower youth, women and other disadvantaged groups through improved employability and better livelihoods. The center has produced over 16 publications in the last 5 years, and thus offers a unique learning experience for volunteers to test, refine and improve their design skills and competencies. IICPSD will in turn benefit from the creativity and commitment of the volunteers in producing attractive design options, which will increase the visibility and reach of the case studies at hand.

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV.
