Contexte et objectifs
UNICEF Eastern and Souther Africa Communication is seeking the support of 3 UN Online Volunteers to design 6 short (30sec to 120sec) animations on key issues affecting children. Each volunteer would be asked to complete one or two animations. These would include 'gender based violence'; early childhood development; quality education etc. The issue of population boom will also be covered. All statistics and key messages would be shared. The final products would then be disseminated across multiple channels: from National TV broadcasters to UNICEF's enormous social media followings. Selected Online Volunteers would have 8-12 weeks to work on the animations. UNICEF would support on scripting and messaging. UNICEF has partnerships with TV stations in dozens of countries in Esatern and Souther Africa. While full copyright will remain with UNICEF, Online Volunteers will have the ability to gain enormous exposure of their work.

Nowhere in the world are children more central to a continent's future than in Africa, where they account for almost half (47 per cent) of all inhabitants. The expansion in their numbers in recent decades has been nothing short of extraordinary. In 1950, Africa's child population stood at 110 million and represented less than 10 per cent of the world's child population. The surge in Africa's child population mirrors the rise in the continent's overall population. Numerous studies have shown the transformative power of investments in essential services for children and youth. The short animations designed by volunteers will seek to raise awareness of the importance of the issue, and of investments for children!
Volontaires: 3 requis
6-10 heures par semaine/ 8 semaines
Ability to create broadcast-quality animations. Candidates should share their CVs and links to previously produced animations. Min 3 years professional experience in developing or supporting animation and creative communication work Excellent track record of past communication campaigns. Experience with digital campaigns in development sector is a plus Set high standards for quality of work and consistently achieve project goals Accuracy and attention to details
