CameroonONE is a project that promotes The Hague Adoption Convention and UN Declaration on the Protection and Welfare of Children by removing unnecessary cases from village-level orphanages and placing them in the households of extended family members within their communities of birth. We are looking for qualified policy experts to assist as we begin replicating this system in other regions of the world in order to establish it as the global standard in approach to innovative orphan-care. While our M&E team is in the process of collecting data and compiling evaluation documents on our program in Cameroon, we would like to begin the transition from a regional NGO to a global foundation. This will involve drafting several documents (a Project Expansion Manifesto that outlines the guidelines of our program and the vulnerability criteria of the beneficiary eligibility, a Child Protection and PSS Report, etc) and identify similar organizations that we may look to begin funding.

The family-preservation efforts of CameroonONE are proving to be successful with impacts that resonate throughout the entire community. This current project has been in place for almost five years and we are eager to capitalize on its achievements to introduce this solution to other foster care systems around the world. Your collaboration will not only be put to good use within the organizations that we accept into the program, but as an encouragement to other projects and regions to adopt on their own as we promote The Hague Adoption Convention and Subsidiary Principle around the world. The villages of this world already have the resources in place (caring families, existing households, and local organizations working with the children and in the orphanages); we can support them by advising on foster care foundations and structure and by providing some funding.
